Mittelstreu is a district of the municipality of Oberstreu in the Lower Franconian district of Rhön-Grabfeld and has around 600 inhabitants.
location
The parish village is located southwest of Oberstreu and northeast of Unsleben on the Streu River . State road 2445 ran through the town until a bypass was built in 2010 .
Surname
etymology
The name Mittelstreu is derived from the Streu river flowing through the village, which flows into the Franconian Saale near Heustreu . The addition of means was intended to distinguish the village from the north-east and south-west of the same name.
