Renate Neu is a former rower from the German Democratic Republic .

Career

A new start at club level for SC Dynamo Berlin . Between 1975 and 1983 she was successful with various line-ups in the eighth at the GDR rowing championships. She won the championship title three times (1975, 1976, 1981), was runner-up four times (1977, 1978, 1980, 1982) and took third place in 1983. In addition, together with Dagmar Bauer , she became national champion in two-man without a taxwoman in 1976 and 1980 and won two silver (1979, 1981) and bronze (1977, 1982) four-wheelers with taxwoman.

In the cast of Doris Mosig , Rosel Nitsche , Renate Neu, Monika Kallies , Bianka Schwede , Ilona Richter , Christiane Knetsch , Viola Goretzki and helmsman Marina Wilke , the eighth of the German Democratic Republic won the gold medal at the World Championships in Nottingham, England . At the World Championships in 1978 in Hamilton, New Zealand, and in 1979 in Bled , Yugoslavia , the GDR eight with Renate Neu won the silver medal; in 1981 in Munich , West Germany , eight with Neu took fifth place. In 1982 she took part in the four-man team with a taxwoman in the line-up of Jutta Raeck , Renate Neu, Ute Skorupski , Viola Kestler and Carola Richter at the World Championships in Lucerne, Switzerland.
