Olivia Loe

Olivia Loe (born January 15, 1992 ) is a New Zealand rower . In 2017 she became world champion in double sculls .

Athletic career

Olivia Loe competed in a double foursome at the Junior World Championships in 2010 , but only finished eleventh. From 2011 to 2014 she rowed at the U23 World Championships . She finished fourth with a double scull in 2011, won the bronze medal in 2012 and was fifth in 2013. In 2014 she rowed in a foursome without a helmsman and won the silver medal. In 2015 Olivia Loe competed twice in the World Cup in a single , but only finished 16 and 19. In 2016 she rowed with Holly Greenslade in a double without a helmsman and finished sixth at the World Cup in Poznan, but Genevieve Behrent and Rebecca finished in the same race Scown second place. Behrent and Scown won the silver medal for New Zealand at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro .

In 2017 Olivia Loe formed a double scull with Brooke Donoghue . The two won the World Cup regattas in Poznan and Lucerne. At the end of the season, the two won the title at the World Championships in Sarasota . In 2018 Loe and Donoghue won the World Cup regattas in Linz and Lucerne. At the world championships they won the silver medal behind the Lithuanians. In 2019 Donoghue and Loe won the World Cup in Poznan. At the world championships, the two won by one second over the Romanians.

The 1.70 m tall Olivia Loe starts for the Avon Rowing Club .
