World Rowing Championships 2008

The 2008 World Rowing Championships took place from July 20 to 27, 2008 in Ottensheim near Linz in Austria . The competitions were held on a branch of the Danube with standing water. Due to the Olympic Games taking place in Beijing in the same year , only the competitions of the non-Olympic boat classes and at the same time also those of the juniors (U19) were held.

Junior World Championships

The 2008 Junior World Rowing Championships were held in 13 boat classes. 655 juniors from 48 countries on all continents took part. The most successful nation was Germany, which won a medal in 12 of 13 competitions.
