Pamela Weisshaupt (born March 2, 1979 in Zurich ) is a Swiss rower . She was world champion in lightweight single rowing in 2008 and 2009 . Weisshaupt starts for the Seeclub Küsnacht .

Pamela Weisshaupt came to rowing through her brothers. Her rowing career began in 1994 at the Uster rowing club . Pamela Weisshaupt has been rowing as a competitive sport since 1995. This year she was a member of the Swiss quadruple scull at the World Rowing Championships for Juniors in Poznan , which came in eighth. A year later at the Junior World Championships in Glasgow she won the bronze medal in the same boat class, and in 1997 she won silver with the Swiss team on the Hazewinkel regatta course .

In the following years, Weisshaupt started in the adult lightweight class in international races mostly in double sculls , occasionally also in double sculls and singles. In 1999 she finished fifth in the lightweight double scull at the Lucerne Rotsee World Cup and came seventh at the World Championships in St. Catharines . She also achieved fourth place in the lightweight single at the World Cup in Munich-Oberschleißheim in 2002 . In 2004 she was second in the lightweight quadruple scull at the World Cup on the Rotsee.

Weisshaupt has been internationally successful in the lightweight single since 2006. Fifth place at the 2006 World Championships in Eton was followed by her first world championship title in Linz in 2008 . She defended her title at the 2009 World Rowing Championships in Poznan , and in 2011 in Bled Weisshaupt was runner-up.

At the national level, Weisshaupt won 16 Swiss championship titles in various boat classes as well as two German championship titles in lightweight double sculls and one in lightweight double sculls. Weisshaupt has been running a rowing school since 2001.
