Laura Tarantola

Laura Tarantola (* 8. June 1994 ) is a French lightweight - rower .

Tarantola started rowing in 2008. She has been internationally active in the junior division since 2012, but only reached a final at the U23 World Championships in 2015 when she won silver with the lightweight quadruple scull. In 2016 she tried to qualify for the Olympic Games with the heavy double scull, which she did not succeed. At the U23 World Championships in 2016, she won the bronze medal with the heavy double scull. At the European Championships in 2017 , she reached fifth place with Claire Bove in the lightweight double scull . Four months later at the World Championships , the two finished seventh. In 2018, the 1.73 m tall Tarantola competed in the European championships in the lightweight single and won silver behind the Belarusian Alena Furman . A month later, Laura Tarantola won the title at the World Championships in Plovdiv . The following year, Tarantola and Claire Bove won the silver medal in the lightweight double scull at the 2019 European Championships in Lucerne behind the Belarusians.
