Pia Berger-Vogel (born January 8, 1969 in Sursee ) is a former Swiss rowing athlete .
Life
Pia Berger-Vogel (formerly Pia Vogel) was born on January 8, 1969 in Sursee. She grew up on Lake Sempach near Lucerne.
At the age of 15, she attended a trial rowing session at the Seeclub Sursee . She was discovered as a talent and turned to rowing. At the age of 17, Pia Berger-Vogel won the first Swiss Junior Championship and took part in the Junior World Championships . Over the years, further successes followed, which were crowned by the two world championship titles in 1998 and 1999. In 2004 Berger-Vogel resigned from active rowing.
The Sports Association of the Canton of Lucerne honored Pia Berger-Vogel with the “Lucerne Sports Prize 1998”, which she received on January 11, 1999.
Pia Berger-Vogel has been married since 2009 and lives with her husband in Switzerland and Ireland.
