Magdalena Kemnitz (* 13. March 1985 in Poznań ) is a Polish lightweight - rower .

Career

Kemnitz started rowing in 1998. In 2002 she was sixth in the Junior World Championships in singles , and in 2003 she was also sixth in double fours . At the 2004 Olympic Games , she finished sixth in the lightweight double scull with Ilona Mokronowska . In 2005 the two Polish women reached fourth place at the World Championships , the following year they missed the A-final and rowed to eighth place. In 2007 the two failed to qualify for the Olympic Games in tenth place at the World Championships , and at the 2007 European Championships at home in Poznan, the two won the silver medal behind the Greek women. In 2008, Kemnitz and Mokronowska, together with Monika Myszk and Weronika Deresz, took part in the lightweight quadruple sculls world championships in the non-Olympic boat classes, where they won the silver medal behind the Australians.

In 2009 Magdalena Kemnitz formed a new lightweight double scull with Agnieszka Renc . The two received the silver medal behind the Greek boat at the world championships that were held on the Poznan regatta course on Lake Malta . The same finish came three weeks later at the 2009 European Championships in Brest, Belarus. At the European Championships 2010 the Greek women won ahead of the Poles, at the World Championships 2010 the two Polish women only achieved sixteenth and last place. In 2011, the two Polish women missed direct Olympic qualification at the World Championships and finished sixth at the European Championships . At the end of her career, Magdalena Kemnitz took part in the 2012 World Championships in the lightweight quadruple sculls. Together with Weronika Deresz, Jaclyn Halko and Agnieszka Renc, she won her only world title in her last major regatta.
