Melanie Kok (* 4. November 1983 in Thunder Bay , Ontario ) is a former Canadian lightweight - rower .

The 1.67 m tall Melanie Kok made her debut in the 2005 rowing World Cup . At the 2005 World Championships won Tracy Cameron , Mara Jones , Elizabeth Urbach and Melanie Kok in lightweight sculls . In the following year only Melanie Kok sat in the double foursome, who finished sixth at the 2006 World Championships . In 2007 Melanie Kok competed in the lightweight single and received the bronze medal at the World Championships in Munich . In 2008 Tracy Cameron and Melanie Kok rowed in the lightweight double sculls . At the World Cup in Lucerne, the two took third place behind the boats from China and the Netherlands, in Poznan the Canadians won ahead of the Germans and Australians. At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008, the Dutch women won ahead of the Finnish double scull. Kok and Cameron won the bronze medal with four hundredths of a second ahead of the German boat.
