Greta Martinelli (born December 3, 2000 in Como ) is an Italian rower . She became world champion in the lightweight quadruple sculls 2019 at the rowing world championships.

Career

In 2016, Greta Martinelli took part in the Junior World Rowing Championships for the first time . In Rotterdam , she competed in the Italian eighth at the 2016 Junior Rowing World Championships and the Italian boat qualified for the A final right in the run-up. In the A-final they took third place behind the boats from the Czech Republic and Germany and thus won the bronze medal for Italy. The following year she took part in the Italian quadruple sculls at the 2017 World Junior Championships in rowing in Trakai . In addition to her, the crew of the double fours included Sofia Tanghetti , Laura Pagnoncelli and Maria Ludovica Costa . Together they could only qualify for the B final, where they finished third, so that they finally finished the World Cup in ninth place.

In 2018 she took part in the Junior Rowing World Championships for the last time in her career .
