Tracy Cameron

Tracy Cameron (* 1. February 1975 in Truro , Nova Scotia ) is a former Canadian lightweight - rower .

The 1.72 m tall Tracy Cameron only began rowing in 2000. In 2005 she made her debut in the Rowing World Cup . At the 2005 World Championships Tracy Cameron, Mara Jones , Elizabeth Urbach and Melanie Kok won the lightweight quadruple sculls . In 2006 she won the World Cup in Munich in the lightweight single , in Lucerne she won the lightweight double scull with Mara Jones . At the World Championships in Eton , Jones and Cameron finished fourth. In 2007, Lindsay Jennerich and Tracy Cameron rowed in the Canadian lightweight double scull. After two podium finishes in the World Cup, the two finished seventh at the World Championships in Munich . In 2008, Tracy Cameron and Melanie Kok started in the lightweight double sculls. At the World Cup in Lucerne, the two took third place behind the boats from China and the Netherlands, in Poznan the Canadians won ahead of the Germans and Australians. At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008, the Dutch women won ahead of the Finnish double scull. Kok and Cameron won the bronze medal with four hundredths of a second ahead of the German boat.

After a year break, Cameron returned to the World Cup in 2010. Together with Katya Herman , she took seventh place at the World Cup in Lucerne. At the World Championships in New Zealand Cameron and Jennerich won the title. In 2011 Jennerich and Cameron won the World Cup in Lucerne. At the world championships in Bled Jennerich won the silver medal with Patricia Obee . Tracy Cameron competed in the lightweight single and finished sixth. In 2012, at the age of 37, Tracy Cameron competed again with Lindsay Jennerich in the World Cup, but Jennerich and Obee rowed at the Olympic Games.
