Leonie Pieper (born August 24, 1992 in Düsseldorf ) is a German lightweight rower.

Career

Leonie Pieper started rowing in 2008 at the Germania Dusseldorf rowing club in 1904 . After three years with the Saarbrücken rowing club , she switched to the Ulm Rowing Club in 2014 . At the U23 World Championships in 2013, she finished second in the lightweight double scull with Fabienne Knoke , and in 2014 she rowed to seventh place with Wiebke Hein . At the 2014 World Championships in the adult class, Leonie Pieper rowed together with Katrin Thoma , Judith Anlauf and Wiebke Hein to third place in the lightweight quadruple sculls . In 2015, the experienced Anja Noske and Lena Müller started together with Katrin Thoma and Leonie Pieper in the lightweight quadruple scull, the boat won the title at the world championships on Lac d'Aiguebelette. At the 2016 World Championships , Judith Anlauf returned to Pieper and Thoma in the foursome, which with Lena Reuss completed the silver medal behind the British selection. In 2017 Pieper competed in the lightweight single and finished sixth at the European Championships and tenth place at the World Championships . In 2018 she was not at the start internationally. At the beginning of June 2019 she won the silver medal in the lightweight single at the European Championships in Lucerne behind the Italian Federica Cesarini . At the World Championships in Ottensheim she won the bronze medal in the lightweight double scull together with Ronja Fini Sturm , Vera Spanke and Leonie Pless .
