Ilse Paulis (* thirtieth July 1993 in Leiderdorp , Netherlands ) is a Dutch lightweight - rower and Olympic champion.

Ilse Paulis started rowing in 2004. Her international career began with a sixth place in a double scull at the 2010 Junior World Championships , and at the 2011 Junior World Championships she won silver with a double scull . In 2013 she competed in two boat classes at the U23 World Championships : She finished seventh in the double fours and sixth place with the eighth . In 2014 she won in the lightweight single at the U23 World Championships and in the double fours at the World Championships in the adult class . At the 2015 World Championships , Maaike Head and Ilse Paulis competed in the lightweight double sculls and missed direct Olympic qualification with 14th place. Head and Paulis started the 2016 Olympic season with a victory at the 2016 European Championships . After Paulis and Head were able to qualify for the Olympic Games in Lucerne, they won the World Cup regatta in Poznan. The two Dutch women crowned the 2016 season by winning the gold medal at the 2016 Olympic Games .

At the European Championships 2017 she started together with Marieke Keijser and won the silver medal. The following year, Keijser and Paulis won the title at the European Championships . At the 2018 World Championships, the Romanians won ahead of the US pair, Paulis and Keijser won the bronze medal. In June 2019 Paulis competed with Martine Veldhuis at the European Championships and finished seventh. Then Keijser returned to the boat. At the 2019 World Championships in Linz, Keijser and Paulis won silver behind the two without a helmsman from New Zealand.
