Marieke Keijser

Marieke Keijser (* 21st January 1997 ) is a Dutch lightweight - rower .

Marieke Keijser started rowing in 2011. At the Junior World Championships in 2013, she finished fourth with the Dutch quadruple scull . In 2014 she was third in the single at the Junior World Championships in Hamburg . At the Junior World Championships in 2015 , she won the single title. In 2016 she won the lightweight single at the U23 World Championships .

At the European Championships 2017 she started together with Ilse Paulis in the lightweight double scull and won the silver medal behind the Poles Weronika Deresz and Martyna Mikolajczak . After winning the lightweight single title again at the U23 World Championships in 2017 , Keijser also competed in the 2017 rowing world championships in the lightweight single and won silver behind the South African Kirsten McCann . In the 2018 Rowing World Cup, Paulis and Keijser rowed in lightweight double sculls and won the regatta in Belgrade. At the European Championships, the two Dutch women won ahead of Weronika Deresz and Joanna Dorociak from Poland . At the 2018 World Championships, the Romanians won ahead of the US pair, Paulis and Keijser won the bronze medal. The following year, Keijser competed again in the lightweight single at the 2019 European Championships in Lucerne and won bronze behind the Italian Federica Cesarini and the German Leonie Pieper . At the 2019 World Championships in Linz, Marieke Keijser and Ilse Paulis won silver behind the two without a helmsman from New Zealand.
