Kirsten Irene Merian van der Kolk (born December 18, 1975 in Haarlem ) is a former Dutch rower who won Olympic gold in the double sculls of the lightweight rowers in 2008 .

The 1.72 meter tall Kirsten van der Kolk from the Amsterdam student association Nereus competed in the 1998 World Cup in Lucerne in a pair without a helmsman , with Marit van Eupen she took third place. In 2000, the two sat in a double scull and reached sixth place at the 2000 Olympic Games . After a fifth place at the 2001 World Cup, Kirsten van der Kolk competed in the single in 2002 and came in sixth at the World Cup. In 2003 she returned to the double scull and won the World Cup in Lucerne with Marit van Eupen, but the two only finished sixth at the World Cup. They won the bronze medal at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.

From 2005 Marit van Eupen competed in the single and won the world championship three times in a row. Kirsten van der Kolk took a break during this time and gave birth to a child. In 2007 she returned and finished sixth in the world championship with the double foursome. For the Olympic season 2008 she sat down again with Marit van Eupen in the double scull and took second place at the World Cup in Lucerne. In the Olympic final in Beijing, the two won by over a second over the Finns. Then she ended her international career.
