Patricia Obee

Patricia Obee (* 31 October 1991 in Saanich , British Columbia ) is a Canadian lightweight - rower .

Athletic career

The 1.65 m tall Patricia Obee started rowing in 2009. At the U23 World Championships in 2010, she competed in two boat classes: with the lightweight double scull she took fifth place, with the eighth she received the bronze medal. In 2011 she took eighth place in the lightweight single at the World Cup in Lucerne . In this boat class, she also won the bronze medal at the U23 World Championships. At the 2011 World Championships in the adult class, she competed with Lindsay Jennerich in the lightweight double scull, both of whom received the silver medal behind the Greeks Christina Giazitzidou and Alexandra Tsiavou . Jennerich and Obee finished seventh at the 2012 Olympics .

In 2013, Obee rowed in the lightweight single and finished ninth at the world championships . In 2014, Lindsay Jennerich returned to the lightweight double scull after a year break, at the World Championships Obee and Jennerich received the silver medal behind the New Zealanders Julia Edward and Sophie MacKenzie . The following year, things went disappointing for the two Canadians in the World Cup with 14th place in Lucerne, but at the 2015 World Championships they reached the A-final and finished fourth. In 2016 Jennerich and Obee won the World Cup regatta in Lucerne. At the 2016 Olympic Games , the two crossed the finish line one second behind the Dutch Ilse Paulis and Maaike Head and received the Olympic silver medal.
