Christina Giazitzidou

Christina Giazitzidou ( Greek Χριστίνα Γιαζιτζίδου , born October 12, 1989 in Kastoria ) is a Greek lightweight rower . In the lightweight double scull she won three U23 world championship titles with Triantafyllia Kalampoka and two world championships and three European championships with Alexandra Tsiavou from 2009 to 2011 .

Giazitzidou won her first international medal at the 2007 Junior World Championships when she finished third with the double foursome. In 2008 she and Triantafyllia Kalampoka received the silver medal in the lightweight double scull at the U23 world regatta . At the European Championships in Athens in 2008, Chrysi Biskitzi and Alexandra Tsiavou won the lightweight double scull ; Kalampoka and Giazitzidou represented the host country in the weight-independent double scull and took fourth place.

In 2009, Kalampoka and Giazitzidou reached the final in two lightweight double sculls in two World Cup regattas and they both won the U23 World Championships. For the big championships Christina Giazitzidou and Alexandra Tsiavou sat in the lightweight double sculls, the two won the World Championships in Poznan and the European Championships in Brest . The two were able to defend the European championship title in 2010 in Montemor-o-Velho, at the World Championships in New Zealand the Canadian won ahead of the German boat, the two Greek women received the bronze medal. In addition, Kalampoka and Giazitzidou won the title at the U23 World Championships in 2010. In 2011 Kalampoka and Giazitzidou competed again in the World Cup regattas, at the U23 World Championships the two won their third title in a row. After that Giazitzidou and Tsiavou rowed together again and won the world title in Bled and the European title in Plovdiv . At the 2012 Olympics , the two won the bronze medal behind the British and Chinese boats.
