Winfried Ringwald

Winfried Ringwald (born December 12, 1950 in Dittigheim , today Tauberbischofsheim ) is a former German rower .

Life

Winfried Ringwald started for the Ludwigshafen rowing club from 1878 . From 1971 to 1973 he and Alois Bierl won the German championship three times without a helmsman . In 1973 Bierl and Ringwald won together with helmsman Achim Roth in a pair with helmsman .

At the Olympic Games in 1972 , the 1.96 m tall ring forest rowed in the German eighth, which took fifth place. In 1973 Bierl and Ringwald won the bronze medal at the European Championships in Moscow in a pair without a helmsman. In 1976, Ringwald traveled to Montreal as a substitute rower for the 1976 Olympic Games . There he moved in the B final for Thomas Hitzbleck in the two with helmsman; Together with Klaus Jäger and helmsman Holger Hocke , he took second place and thus eighth place in the overall ranking.
