Klaus Jäger
Klaus Jäger (born February 6, 1950 in Kelheim ) is a former German rower .
Klaus Jäger started regularly for the Rvg. Hellas-Titania Berlin , he also competed for clubs from Essen and Dortmund at German championships in large boats. The 1.98 m tall Klaus Jäger was German champion in 1970 in the four with helmsman and in the eight ; In 1971 he won in the four without a helmsman and in the four with a helmsman. Further championship titles followed in 1974 in a two-man without a helmsman , a four-man without a helmsman and in the eight, and in 1975 in a twos with a helmsman .
At the European Rowing Championships in 1971, Klaus Jäger took sixth place with eighth. In 1973 he was fourth in the four-man championship without a helmsman. In 1974 he won bronze in a four without a helmsman together with Peter van Roye , Bernd Truschinski and Reinhard Wendemuth at the World Championships in Lucerne . The following year he won bronze in a two-man team with a helmsman together with Thomas Hitzbleck and helmsman Holger Hocke . At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal , Hitzbleck, Jäger and Hocke missed the A final; in the small final, Jäger, Hocke and Winfried Ringwald, who replaced Hitzbleck, took second place and thus eighth place in the overall standings.
