Frank Schütze (born July 2, 1956 in Uelzen ) is a former German rower who competed for the Federal Republic of Germany .

The 1.87 m tall rower from the Hanoverian Rowing Club from 1880 was 1974 with the eighth junior world champion . At the Olympic Games in Montreal in 1976 he finished fourth with eighth place. In rowed out shooter at the World Championships in the coxed four . With the cast of Gabriel Konertz , Wolfram Thiem , Frank Schütze, Klaus Meyer and helmsman Helmut Sassenbach , the boat won the silver medal behind the boat from the GDR. In 1978 the four-man teamed up with Wolf-Dietrich Oschlies , Thiem, Schütze, Konertz and Sassenbach and again won the silver medal behind the GDR at the 1978 World Championships . At the 1979 World Championships , Andreas Görlich , Schütze, Thiem, Oschlies and Manfred Klein won the bronze medal behind the boats from the GDR and the Soviet Union. After missing the start of the Olympics in 1980 because of the Olympic boycott , Frank Schütze ended his international career.

Schütze won a total of 14 German championship titles: From 1976 to 1980 he won with Wolfram Thiem in a double without a helmsman . From 1977 to 1980 he won in a four with helmsman. And finally he won from 1976 to 1980 with the eighth.
