Søren Madsen

Søren Madsen (born May 31, 1976 in Middelfart ) is a former Danish rower .

Athletic career

Madsen finished eighth in eighth at the Junior World Championships in 1993, and in 1994 he was eighth in double sculls. At the U23 World Championships in 1996 he finished sixth with the quadruple, and in 1998 he was fourth in the lightweight single. In the adult class, he took eleventh place in the lightweight double scull at the 1998 World Championships , and in 1999 the Danish lightweight double scull finished fifteenth.

In 2000 Madsen switched to the belt boats and moved into the lightweight four without a helmsman for Thomas Poulsen before the Olympic Games in Sydney . With Thomas Ebert , Eskild Ebbesen and Victor Feddersen , he took third place in Sydney behind the French and Australians. In the 2001 World Cup season, Madsen won three regattas in a four-man, in Seville he won the lightweight two-man with Thomas Ebert. At the 2001 World Championships , Thomas Ebert, Thor Kristensen , Søren Madsen and Eskild Ebbesen rowed to second place behind the Austrian boat. In 2002 Madsen switched to the lightweight eighth, with which he finished fourth at the 2002 World Championships .

The 1.85 m tall Søren Madsen competed for the Middelfart Roklub .
