Igor Boraska

Igor Boraska (born September 26, 1970 in Split ) is a former Croatian rower who, together with Tihomir Franković and helmsman Milan Razov, won the first gold medal at the rowing world championships for Croatia in 1994 in a pair with helmsman .

Athletic career

Boraska, Franković and Razov took fifth place in the two-man team at the 1993 World Championships and were just over a second behind the German boat in third place. At the 1994 World Championships in Indianapolis, the Croatians won with eight tenths of a second ahead of the Italian two-man. In 1995 in Tampere Boraska finished thirteenth with the Croatian eighth . At the 1996 Olympic Games he placed seventh with the four without a helmsman as the winner of the B final.

In 1997, Boraska and Tihomir Franković won the World Cup in Munich in a double without a helmsman . After two fifth places in the other two World Cup regattas, the two Croatians only took fifth place in the B final and thus 11th overall at the World Championships . At the 1998 World Championships in Cologne , Denis Boban , Igor Boraska, Tihomir Franković, Siniša Skelin and helmsman Ratko Cvitanić won the silver medal behind the Australian boat in a four with helmsman .
