Carmine Abbagnale
Carmine Abbagnale (born January 5, 1962 in Pompei ) is a former Italian rower . He won two Olympic gold medals and was a seven-time world champion.
Career
Carmine Abbagnale, together with his older brother Giuseppe Abbagnale and the helmsman Giuseppe Di Capua, dominated the two-man competitions for over a decade . At the 1992 Olympic Games and the 1993 World Championships, the three lost to the British brothers Jonathan Searle and Greg Searle with their helmsman Garry Herbert .
In addition to Giuseppe and Carmine Abbagnale, the youngest brother Agostino Abbagnale was also a successful rower who even won three Olympic gold medals. While the two older brothers always sat in the belt boat , Agostino was successful in the scull .
