Charles Kieffer

Charles M. "Charlie" Kieffer (born August 11, 1910 in Philadelphia , † November 8, 1975 in Quakertown , Pennsylvania ) was an American rower .

Kieffer won his first US championship title in 1927, when he won the National High School Championship with the eighth of his high school . In 1932 the two-man with helmsman of the Pennsylvania Barge Club qualified with Joseph Schauers , Charles Kieffer and helmsman Edward Jennings for the 1932 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Since only four boats had reported, there were no preliminary runs. The US boat won six seconds ahead of the Poles, ten seconds behind the French won the bronze medal, ahead of the Brazilians who were beaten.

Kieffer was later a banker in Pottsville , Pennsylvania and served at times as a tax officer.
