Primo Baran (born April 1, 1943 in Treviso ) is a former Italian rower .

At the European Championships in 1965 , the Soviet boat won in two with a helmsman in front of Renzo Sambo , Primo Baran and the helmsman Giorgio Conte . At the 1966 World Championships , the Dutch two-man won ahead of the French, followed by Sambo, Baran and helmsman Enrico Pietropolli, who received the bronze medal. After silver in 1965 and bronze in 1966, Renzo Sambo, Primo Baran and their new helmsman Bruno Cipolla won the title at the European Championships in 1967 in front of the two-men from the GDR and Czechoslovakia. In 1968 Sambo, Baran and Cipolla competed again and won the gold medal at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City in front of the boats from the Netherlands and Denmark. At the European Championships in 1969 , the two from Czechoslovakia won the silver medal , followed by Primo Baran, Angelo Rossetto and helmsman Giorgio Sajeva .

Primo Baran still took part in the Olympic Games in Munich in 1972 (tenth in a four-man without a helmsman ) and in Montreal in 1976 (fifth in a two-man with helmsman with Annibale Venier and helmsman Franco Venturini ), but won no more international medals.
