Samwer (family)

Samwer is the name of a family of entrepreneurs . It produced lawyers, officers, politicians and entrepreneurs and is now one of the wealthiest in Germany .

origin

From 1790 to 1828 a lawyer Carl August Samwer lived in Eckernförde . Hinrich Christian Samwer, a traveling tablet shopkeeper from Hanover , was named as his father in the parish register of Dänischenhagen .

In 1804 the alleged mother of Carl August Samwer died and he grew up with Simon Carl von Wasmer (1765–1826), heir of Bienebek . When Carl August wanted to marry his eldest daughter, Sophie von Wasmer, in 1813, her father revealed to him that he was an illegitimate child of himself and Dorothea Christine Schütt (1769-1804), and thus Sophie was his half-sister.
