Sigmar-Jürgen Samwer (* 1938 ) is a German lawyer . As an attorney for press and competition law based in Cologne , he gained notoriety in Germany through the representation of u. a. Heinrich Böll and Karl Carstens .

His sons Marc, Oliver and Alexander are the so-called Samwer brothers . His wife Sabine was also a lawyer in Cologne. Forester Friedrich Samwer , the older brother of Adolf Franz Samwer , was his father. The grandfather Karl August Friedrich Samwer was an honorary citizen of Gotha and general director of Gothaer Lebensversicherungsbank a. G. Great-grandfather Karl Friedrich Lucian Samwer was a professor of constitutional law in Kiel and a councilor in the State Ministry of Saxony-Coburg and Gotha .
