Mario Palmisano

Mario Palmisano (born May 28, 1978 in Naples ) is a former Italian rower . At world championships he rowed four medals, one gold and three silver.

Athletic career

The 1.89 m tall Mario Palmisano took twelfth place in the 1994 Junior World Championships with eighth , in 1995 he reached sixth place in four with helmsman and in 1996 he won silver in two with helmsman . In 1997 he entered the Nations Cup , the forerunner competition of the U23 World Championships, in two without a helmsman and received silver. In the same year he also rowed in the adult class at the 1997 World Championships . In the line-up of Giuliano De Stabile , Rosario Gioia , Francesco Mattei , Mario Palmisano and helmsman Gaetano Iannuzzi , the four-man with helmsman won the silver medal behind the French boat. At the 1998 World Championships in Cologne Palmisano finished fifth with the Italian eighth and at the 1999 World Championships the eighth came in sixth. In 2001 Mario Palmisano competed at the World Championships in Lucerne together with Gioacchino Cascone, Pasquale Panzarino and Raffaello Leonardo in a four without a helmsman and reached sixth place. At the 2002 World Championships in Seville , Palmisano rowed back in eighth place in Italy and finished fifth. In 2003 at the World Championships in Milan , the eighth came in seventh place. In 2004 Palmisano was not among the eighth, who finished seventh at the Olympic Games in Athens.
