Luca Agamennoni (born August 8, 1980 in Livorno ) is an Italian rower who won two Olympic medals.

Career

Agamennoni won his first international medal at the 2001 World Rowing Championships in Lucerne, when he and Edoardo Verzotti , Massimo Cascone , Luca Ghezzi and helmsman Gianluca Barattolo won silver behind the French four-man with helmsman . From 2002 to 2004 rowed Agamennoni mostly in Skull boats, which boasts, at the World Championships in 2003, he finished with the Italian sculls sixth. For the 2004 Olympics , he returned to the belt back rudders. The Italian four without a helmsman with Lorenzo Porzio , Dario Dentale , Luca Agamennoni and Raffaello Leonardo won the bronze medal behind the boats from the United Kingdom and Canada in Athens.

In 2005, Agamennoni and Dario Lari competed in two without a helmsman and took third place at the World Cup regattas in Munich and Lucerne as well as at the World Championships in Japan. In 2006 Agamennoni moved to eighth , with whom he won silver at the World Championships in Eton . After the Italian eighth finished 15th at the 2007 World Championships and thus clearly missed the Olympic qualification, Agamennoni returned in 2008 to the scullers. In 2011 Agamennoni rowed in belt boats , and at the 2011 World Championships he finished tenth with the four-man without a helmsman. At the end of the season, Mario Paonessa , Francesco Fossi , Luca Agamennoni and Andrea Palmisano won the bronze medal at the European Championships . At the 2012 Olympics , the Italian four-man without a helmsman took eighth place.

After a year break, Agamennoni rowed in double fours in 2014, but only achieved tenth place at the 2014 European Championships . In 2015 and 2016 he rowed in the Italian eighth. The sixth place at the 2015 World Championships was followed by seventh place at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro the following year .
