Vincenzo Abbagnale (born March 13, 1993 in Scafati ) is an Italian rower . In 2013 he won the world championship in two with helmsman .

Vincenzo's father Giuseppe and his uncles Carmine and Agostino were world class rowers of the 1980s and 1990s. Vincenzo started rowing in 2004. The 1.85 m tall rower competes for the Circolo Nautico Stabia club .

With the Italian eighth he won the bronze medal at the Junior World Championships in 2009 , at the Junior World Championships in 2010 he also won the bronze medal with the eighth. At the Junior World Championships in 2011 he received bronze again, this time with the four-man with helmsman . In 2013 he took part in international regattas for the first time in the adult class. After an eighth place at the European Rowing Championships in 2013 with the Italian eighth, he finished seventh at the World Cup on the Rotsee near Lucerne, again in eighth. At the U23 World Championships in 2013, he won the title in four with a helmsman together with Luca Parlato , Mario Cuomo, Massimiliano Rocchi and helmsman Andrea Kiraz. For the 2013 World Rowing Championships , Parlato and Abbagnale switched to two-man with helmsman Enrico D'Aniello ; in this no longer Olympic boat class they won the world championship title in front of the boats from Germany and France.

In 2016, Abbagnale was banned after being unavailable for drug testing three times . The ban runs until October 19, 2017 and was imposed by Abbagnale's father Giuseppe in his function as association president of the Italian rowing association.

In 2017 he started in two with the helmsman together with Jacopo Mancini and helmsman Riccardo Zoppini at the world championships , where they finished fifth. In the following year he switched to the Italian four-man without a helmsman and finished fourth at the 2018 European Championships with Giovanni Abagnale, Marco Di Costanzo and Matteo Castaldo . At the world championships in Plovdiv he started with Cesare Gabbia in a two-man without a helmsman , the two finished 18th. In 2019 he finished sixth at the European championships with eighth .
