Location and dates

Scafati is located 30 km west of Salerno , on the A3 motorway . The districts are Bagni, Mariconda, Marra-Zaffaranelli, Sant'Antonio Vecchio, San Pietro , San Vincenzo, Trentuno and Ventotto. The neighboring communities are Angri , Boscoreale ( NA ), Poggiomarino (NA), Pompei (NA), San Marzano sul Sarno , San Valentino Torio , Sant'Antonio Abate (NA) and Santa Maria la Carità (NA).

The inhabitants live mainly from jobs in industry.

Attractions

The Piazza Vittorio Veneto in the city center is worth seeing, there is the church of Santa Maria delle Vergini.

The Santa Maria di Real Valle monastery is located in the district of San Pietro . The monastery was founded by Charles I of Anjou around 1270 .
