Praiano is a city in the province of Salerno in Campania , Italy and belongs to the mountain commune Comunità Montana Penisola Amalfitana .

Location and dates

Praiano is located 32 km west of Salerno on the Amalfitana from Amalfi to Positano with 2020 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). Another district is Vettica Maggiore. The neighboring communities are Agerola ( NA ), Furore , Positano .

The main industry of the municipality is tourism. There are about 15 hotels in the village. There are accesses to the sea in Praiano, but the place does not have a beach like Positano.

Attractions

The church of San Luca Evangelista is worth seeing . The origin of the church goes back to the year 1123. Inside are paintings by Giovanni Bernardo Lama from the 16th century. A museum has been set up in the rectory from 1552.
