Monteforte Cilento is a municipality with 536 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in southwest Italy in the province of Salerno ( Campania region ).

The place is located in the center of the Cilento National Park , about five kilometers east of the Alento reservoir.

The neighboring municipalities are Cicerale , Felitto , Magliano Vetere , Orria , Perito , Roccadaspide and Trentinara . Like all municipalities in the center of Cilento, the place is not easy to reach. There are connections to the neighboring towns via provincial roads. The place is part of the National Park Cilento and Vallo di Diano and belongs to the Comunità Montana del Calore Salernitano .
