Castelcivita is an Italian commune with 1564 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Salerno in the Campania region . The place is located in the National Park Cilento and Vallo di Diano and is part of the Comunità Montana Alburni .

geography

The place is on the northwest slope of the Monti Alburni . The neighboring municipalities are Albanella , Altavilla Silentina , Aquara , Controne , Ottati , Postiglione , Roccadaspide and Sicignano degli Alburni . The districts ( Frazioni ) are Cosentini and Serra.

Attractions

The place is also known for one of the largest cave systems in Europe, the Grotto of Castelcivita .
