San Mauro Cilento is a municipality in southwest Italy in the province of Salerno ( Campania region ). The place is in the west of the Cilento National Park on the south-western slope of Monte Stella . 868 residents live here (as of December 31, 2019).

Two other localities belong to the municipality: Casal Sottano and Mezzatorre. The neighboring municipalities are Montecorice , Pollica , Serramezzana and Sessa Cilento . San Mauro Cilento is part of the Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park (Italian: Parco Nazionale del Cilento e Vallo di Diano). The locality of Mezzatorre is a member of the Costiera Cilentana .
