It flows first in a south-westerly direction and shortly after its source it crosses the Lac de l'Assencière . A little later, after the confluence of the Ruisseau de Giron in the municipality of Meussia , it changes course and now flows in a north-westerly direction. It flows through the eastern part of the municipality of Meussia and a little later forms its border with Thoiria , or the border between the arrondissements of Saint-Claude and Lons-le-Saunier . From the confluence of the Ruisseau de Germange , it forms the border between Thoiria and Coyron , before it flows into the Lac de Vouglans reservoir a little later between Coyron and Barésia-sur-l'Ain .
