Jonathan Watling

Jonathan Watling (born February 29, 1976 ) is a former rower from the United States who won two medals in eighth at world championships .

Athletic career

Jonathan Watling finished fourth at the 2001 World Championships with the American eighth . In 2002 he won the World Cup in Lucerne with eighth . At the 2002 World Championships in Seville, the eighth won the bronze medal behind the boats from Canada and Germany. A year later the Canadians won again at the 2003 World Championships in Milan, the US eight won the silver medal one second behind. In 2004 Watling took fourth place at the World Cup in Lucerne. In the Olympic gold medal two months later, Bryan Volpenhein was batsman for the US eight instead of Watling .

Jonathan Watling is a graduate of Yale University and a PhD from Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons . In 2011 he married the former rower Dana Peirce .
