Brian Price

Brian Price (born February 19, 1976 in Belleville , Ontario ) is a former Canadian rower , who was the helmsman of the Canadian eight, Olympic champion and three-time world champion.

The civil engineer began rowing after college. In 2001 he drove for the first time the Canadian eighth at the rowing world championships and finished sixth. The following year he won his first world title in Seville. In 2003 the Canadian eight was able to defend the title, Price also drove the two with helmsman to third place. In the 2004 Olympic season, the Canadian eighth won the World Cup regattas in Munich and Lucerne, in the final of the Olympic Games in Athens the boat only finished fifth. At the 2005 and 2006 World Championships, the Canadian eighth did not reach the A-final, but in 2007 Price won his third world title with eighth. At the Olympic Regatta 2008 in Beijing , the Canadian eighth world champion won in the same line-up as in 2007. After 2008 Brian Price took a break, but returned in 2011 and won two bronze medals at the World Championships in Bled.

Brian Price is a member of the Quinte Rowing Club in his hometown of Belleville. With a height of 1.63 m, his competition weight was 55 kg.
