Philip Fleming (born August 15, 1889 in Newport-on-Tay , † October 13, 1971 in Woodstock , Oxfordshire ) was a British rower .

Fleming attended Eton College and then studied at Magdalen College of Oxford University . In 1910 he won the Boat Race with the eighth of Oxford University . At the Olympic Games in Stockholm in 1912, he and the crew of the Leander Club won the competition in the eighth place in front of the boat of New College in Oxford.

During the First World War he was one of the Queen's Own Oxfordshire Hussars . Later he was the founder and director of a commercial bank. In addition, he was involved in local politics.

Fleming was the son of the banker Robert Fleming . He married the daughter of the sailor Philip Hunloke , who won a bronze medal in the 8-meter class at the 1908 Olympic Games . Philip Fleming's brother Valentine was a Member of Parliament and died in World War I. Philip Fleming was thus the uncle of the writers Peter and Ian Fleming .
