Dominic Seiterle

Dominic Seiterle (born September 4, 1975 in Montreal ) is a former Canadian rower .

Life

The 1.93 m tall Seiterle began rowing in 1991. At the U23 World Championships in 1997, he finished fifth with the Canadian eighth . In the same year he developed thyroid cancer, which he quickly overcame. In 1999 he completed his undergraduate studies at Dartmouth College .

In 2000 he took part in a double scull with Todd Hallett at the Olympic Games in Sydney and finished 13th as the winner in the C final. From 2002 to 2005 he studied at the University of Rochester and graduated with a Master of Business Administration .

After completing his studies, he returned to the Canadian national rowing team. In 2007, the Canadian eighth dominated the Rowing World Cup and also won the title at the 2007 World Championships . In his last major race, Seiterle won the gold medal at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing with the Canadian eighth .
