Norris Graham

Norris "Norey" James Graham (born October 25, 1906 in Portland , Oregon , † July 9, 1980 in Tuolumne City , California ) was an American rower .

The 1.66 m tall Graham was the helmsman of the eighth of the Golden Bears , the sports team at the University of California, Berkeley , in 1932 . The eighth won the championships of the Intercollegiate Rowing Association and also qualified for the 1932 Olympic Games in Los Angeles . In the run-up to the Olympic regatta, the eighth won by four seconds ahead of the boat from Canada. In the final, the Italian eighth, who was two tenths of a second behind the Californian boat at the finish, led the Canadians bronze.

Graham later ran a welding equipment company in Long Beach.
