Kevin Neufeld

Kevin Neufeld (born November 6, 1960 in St. Catharines ) is a former Canadian rower .

Neufeld's first major international appearance was at the 1983 World Championships when he finished eighth with the Canadian eighth . In 1984 the Canadian eight competed with Blair Horn , Dean Crawford , Michael Evans , Paul Steele , Grant Main , Mark Evans , Kevin Neufeld, Patrick Turner and helmsman Brian McMahon . At the 1984 Olympic Games , the Canadians finished second behind the New Zealanders in the first run and qualified for the final with a second place behind the Australians in the hope run . In the final, the Canadians won with four tenths of a second ahead of the US eighth, while the Australians won the bronze medal two seconds behind the New Zealanders.

1985 Neufeld together with T. Gibbon, Dean Crawford and Grant Main finished fifth in the four without a helmsman at the world championships . In 1986 in Nottingham , Patrick Turner, Paul Steele, Kevin Neufeld and Grant Main finished fourth after the four Canadians had won the 1986 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh four weeks earlier . In 1987 the four rowers returned to the Canadian eight and finished fifth at the World Championships in Copenhagen . At the end of his career, Neufeld reached the 1988 Olympic final with the Canadian eighth and finished sixth in Seoul.

The 1.86 m tall Neufeld graduated from the University of Victoria with a degree in social science .
