Rowley Douglas

Rowley Douglas (born January 27, 1977 in Washington, DC ) is a retired British helmsman in rowing .

At the (unofficial) U23 World Championships in 1997 Douglas steered the British four-man with helmsman to fifth place, in 1998 the four-man took fourth place. His first victory in the rowing world cup was the victory with the lightweight eighth in 1998 in Munich. In 1999, the 1.65 m tall Douglas took over the helmsman's position in the British eight with no weight restrictions. After three second places in the World Cup, the British eighth also won the silver medal at the 1999 World Championships . In 2000, the Croatians won the World Cup kick off, ahead of the British. The other two World Cup regattas were won by the British, who also secured the gold medal at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney ahead of the Australian hosts and the Croatians. At the 2001 World Championships , Douglas finished fifth with the British eighth.
