Filip Adamski (born January 5, 1983 in Breslau , Poland ) is a former German rower . He was 2012 Olympic champion with the Germany eight .

Life

At the age of 13, Adamski came to rowing at the folk water sports club in Mannheim through a working group at school . He rowed for the Mannheimer-Rudergesellschaft-Baden from 1880 . Adamski was known and feared for his final sprint talent with opponents and fellow rowers.

He won medals at several world championships (U23) and German championships . At the World Rowing Championships in Eton in 2006 , he won the silver medal behind the defending champions from Great Britain in a four-man without a helmsman . The year 2007 passed with illnesses that prevented a connection to the achievements of the year 2006. Nevertheless, the team of the year 2006 was able to qualify for the Olympic Games in Beijing . Adamski and Toni Seifert fell ill at the Olympic Games and had to be replaced after the run-up. A year later, both won the title at the 2009 World Championships with Germany eighth .

In the spring of 2010, the man from Mannheim lost his place in the eighth, but was still part of the 16-man training squad around the boat. At the 2010 World Championships , Adamski won the bronze medal with the two-man with helmsman. The following year he won the overall World Cup with the four-man without a helmsman. In spring 2012 Adamki was nominated again for the Germany eight. At the Olympic Games in London 2012, Adamski won the gold medal with the Germany eight.
