Scott David Durant , MBE (born February 12, 1988 in Los Angeles ) is a British rower and Olympic champion.

Scott Durant began rowing at Lancaster Royal Grammar School and then attended Oxford Brookes University . After finishing fifth with eighth at the U23 World Championships in 2008, Durant won bronze with eighth in 2010. At the European Championships in 2011 , he finished seventh with the four-man without a helmsman , and in 2012 he was fifth in eighth. In 2013, the 1.96 m tall Durant rowed in the Rowing World Cup for the first time . At the 2013 World Championships , the British four-man without a helmsman finished fifth with Alan Sinclair , Nathaniel Reilly-O'Donnell , Scott Durant and Matthew Tarrant . At the beginning of the 2014 season, Durant won the bronze medal at the European Championships with the British eighth . In the 2014 World Cup he started eighth and twos with helmsman . In this boat class, Alan Sinclair, Scott Durant and helmsman Henry Fieldman won the silver medal at the 2014 World Championships . At the end of May 2015 the British four-man without a helmsman won the European Championships with Nathaniel Reilly-O'Donnell, Alan Sinclair, Tom Ransley and Scott Durant . At the World Championships in early September, Durant, Sinclair, Ransley and Stewart Innes took third place behind the boats from Italy and Australia. At the start of the 2016 season, Durant finished third with the British eighth behind the Germans and Russians at the European Championships in Brandenburg an der Havel. In the final of the 2016 Olympic Games , as in the three world championships since 2013, the British managed to win ahead of Germany eighth.
