Pirates of Treasure Island is an American film that is very loosely based on the adventure novel Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson . The film, made by The Asylum in 2006, can be seen as a mockbuster of Pirates of the Caribbean, which appeared almost at the same time .
action
The pub owner Jim Hawkins comes into possession of a treasure map. Together with his friend Dr. Livesley books a ship to go to Skeleton Island. However, the crew they hired is made up of pirates . Without his knowledge, his waitress Anne, among others, got on the ship. When Jim accidentally reveals the pirates around Long John Silver as such, it turns out that Anne is also a pirate. After taking control of the ship, the pirates go ashore with Jim and Anne to find the treasure. During a battle with Captain Smollette, who has been captured by the pirates, the group is attacked by huge insects. Eventually, it turns out that the real treasure is in a different location. After both Captain Smollette and Long John Silver and his men have been killed, the rest of them return home, where Jim receives a letter of piracy and, as captain , goes on a hunt for the right treasure with Anne.
criticism
"Maybe the film should have been better named Pirates of Trash Island ."
