Beau Hoopman

Beau Hoopman (* 1. October 1980 in Sheboygan ) is a former American rower and Olympic champion in eight of 2004.

The 1.93 m tall Beau Hoopman was second with the US eighth in the U23 world regatta in 2001 and won in 2002. After Hoopman had won the American four-man without a helmsman at the Rowing World Cup in Lucerne in 2004, he moved into the US eighth for the Olympics. At the 2004 Olympic regatta, the US eight won the gold medal, the first gold medal for the US eight since 1964 . At the 2005 World Rowing Championships , Hoopman competed in two boat classes, he won the title with eighth and finished fifth in the four without a helmsman. In 2006 in Eton he won the bronze medal with eighth. After an eighth place with the four without a helmsman at the 2007 World Championships , Hoopman returned to eighth for the 2008 Olympic Games and won the bronze medal with the large boat. After finishing ninth with eighth at the 2009 World Championships , Hoopman's international career ended.
