Andrew Cooper

Andrew Dollman Cooper (born December 23, 1964 in Melbourne ) is a former Australian rower .

In 1985, Cooper had finished second with the Australian eighth at the still unofficial U23 World Championships . In 1986, Cooper competed at the World Championships in Nottingham in the adult class and won the title with the Australian eighth. At the World Championships in 1987 , Cooper finished fourth with the Australian eighth, and the following year the boat reached fifth place in the Olympic final .

After two years without participating in the World Cup, Cooper replaced Samuel Patten in the Australian four-man star in 1991 , who had won the hosts' only world championship in 1990 in Tasmania. Together with Nicholas Green , Michael McKay and James Tomkins , Cooper won the title at the 1991 World Championships in Vienna . The following year, the four Australians also won the Olympic Games in Barcelona .

Cooper returned to the foursome one more time, finishing fifth at the 1995 World Championships .
