August "Gus" Casimir Erker (born October 24, 1879 in Pfaffenwiesbach , † November 29, 1951 in St. Louis ) was an American rower .
At the Olympic Games in St. Louis in 1904, only boats from the United States won the five Olympic boat classes. Four winning boats came from rowing clubs on the east coast. Only in the four without a helmsman did all three boats come from the host city of St. Louis. The Century Boat Club boat with Arthur Stockhoff , August Erker, George Dietz and Albert Nasse won by two boat lengths ahead of the Mound City Rowing Club boat .
August Erker had come to the United States with his parents from Germany at the age of thirteen. He was missing one eye, but that didn't hinder his rowing.
