Stewart Innes

Stewart Gilbert Innes (born May 20, 1991 in Oxford ) is a British rower .

Innes took in 2008 in the coxless pair at the Junior World Championships in part, but only reached the C-final. At the Junior World Championships in 2009 he won the silver medal with the British eighth . In 2011 Innes competed at the U23 World Championships in double fours and reached the C final. In 2013 he rowed in the quadruple, but then dropped out due to illness. In 2014 Innes competed in the single at the student world championships and finished third.

In 2015, in his first year in the British A-team, he won the silver medal at the European Championships with eighth . In the rowing world cup he won in Varese with the British eighth, but then entered Lucerne together with Oliver Cook in two without a helmsman and reached eighth place. For the 2015 World Championships, Innes joined Scott Durant , Alan Sinclair and Tom Ransley in the four without a helmsman and won the bronze medal behind the four from Italy and Australia. In 2016, Sinclair and Innes switched to the two without a helmsman, they won the silver medal at the 2016 European Championships . At the 2016 Olympic Games , the two Brits finished fourth.

The 1.97 m tall Innes used to row for St. Edward's in Oxford and then for the Rowing Club at the University of Reading , but then moved to the Leander Club in Henley-on-Thames .
